Detailed Itinerary

Old Manali to Moridugh (2,900m) – 3 to 4 Hours Trek Report at the Himalayasgriffon Base Camp in Old Manali by morning. After freshening up and a short briefing session by our trek leader, we’ll drive to Kulang village, the starting point of our trek.

Begin your journey through a historic trail once used during the British era, surrounded by dense oak and deodar forests. The gradual ascent to Moridugh takes around 3 to 4 hours, offering a refreshing introduction to the Himalayas.

Reach your campsite at 9,500 ft (2,900m), where panoramic views of the Dhauladhar range await. As the sun sets, the landscape transforms into a photographer’s paradise. Unwind with a hot meal and spend the night under the stars at our scenic campsite.

Trek to Bhrigu Lake (4,300m) – 7 to 8 Hours Trek
Wake up to a serene Himalayan morning and fuel up with a hearty breakfast. Today’s journey takes you to the sacred Bhrigu Lake, nestled at a staggering altitude of 4,300 meters.

The trail offers panoramic views of the mighty Dhauladhar Range, featuring iconic peaks like Hanuman Tibba (5,928m), Manali Peak, and Friendship Peak. Depending on the season, expect to trek through patches of snow-covered terrain, adding a touch of adventure to the spiritual landscape.

Bhrigu Lake holds immense religious significance—believed to be the meditative abode of Rishi Bhrigu, one of the seven great sages in Hindu mythology. Take time to absorb the peace of the surroundings, click photographs, and experience the spiritual energy of this high-altitude gem.

After spending time at the lake, descend back to the Moridugh campsite. Wind down with evening snacks, enjoy a warm bonfire, and share stories under the stars.

Trek Back to Kulang & Drive to Old Manali – 3 to 4 Hours
Begin your final day in the mountains with a warm cup of tea and breakfast at the Moridugh campsite. After packing up, retrace your steps through the lush alpine forest on the descent to Kulang village. The downhill trek takes around 3 hours, offering a different perspective of the trail you ascended on Day 1.

Upon reaching Kulang, a vehicle will be waiting to take you back to Old Manali. Reflect on the journey filled with high-altitude lakes, forest trails, and panoramic Himalayan views as you drive back to civilization.

How To Reach

By Air: Fly into Kullu–Manali Airport (Bhuntar Airport) – about 50 km from Manali. Regular flights operate from Delhi and Chandigarh

By Bus: Manali is accessible by road from Delhi (~550 km, ~12–14 hours), Chandigarh (~310 km), Shimla, and other North Indian cities via HRTC and private Volvo/sleeper buses or by car

By Train : Manali lacks a railway station. The nearest broad-gauge station is Pathankot (~300–383 km away), while Joginder Nagar is a narrow-gauge option (~160–165 km away)
. From either station, you can continue to Manali by taxi or bus (~5–10 hours depending on junction).

Who Can Participate

•Age Requirement: Minimum 9 years.

•Experience: First-timers are welcome; prior trekking experience is an advantage.

• Fitness Criteria:
• Should be able to jog 5 km in 35 minutes without stress, OR 10 km in 80 minutes without stress.
• If cycling, should be able to cover 10 km in 30 minutes comfortably.

• Backpack Capacity:
• If carrying own backpack – should manage 10–12 kg load.
• If opting for off-loading – should be able to carry a 3–5 kg daypack.

• Health & BMI:
• Trekkers should ideally have a BMI between 18–29.
• If outside this range, please consult our Trek Coordinator before booking.
