Phulara Ridge Trek is a beautiful ridge trek in Uttarakhand, known for its long ridge walk, alpine meadows, dense forests, traditional Himalayan villages and panoramic mountain views.
Phulara Ridge is located in the Uttarkashi district of Uttarakhand, in the Sankri region. Sankri serves as the main base for the trek.
Phulara Ridge is generally rated Moderate. The trek involves several hours of walking each day, gradual altitude gain and a long ridge section. Good basic fitness and preparation are recommended.
The Phulara Ridge Trek reaches an altitude of approximately 12,000 ft above sea level.
The total trekking distance is approximately 25–30 km, depending on the exact itinerary, campsites and route followed.
The Himalayasgriffon Phulara Ridge itinerary is planned as a multi-day trek, including transportation according to the selected package. The exact duration depends on the itinerary and travel arrangements.
The trek generally begins from the Sankri region. Depending on the itinerary, the trekking route may start from a nearby village or trailhead before progressing through forests and meadows towards Phulara Ridge.
Yes, for reasonably fit beginners. Previous trekking experience is helpful but not always mandatory. Trekkers should be physically prepared for long walking days and continuous ascents and descents.
The preferred periods for Phulara Ridge Trek are generally May to June and September to November, depending on weather and trail conditions. Spring and early summer offer greener landscapes, while autumn is known for clearer mountain views.
Snow may be encountered during the early part of the trekking season or after fresh snowfall. Snow conditions vary depending on the month, altitude and prevailing weather.
Unlike many Himalayan treks where a summit or lake is the main destination, Phulara Ridge offers an extended walk along a high mountain ridge. This provides trekkers with wide, uninterrupted views of the surrounding valleys and Himalayan ranges.
The trek is based around the Sankri region and can pass through nearby Himalayan villages, forests and meadow areas depending on the itinerary. The exact route and campsites are shared before departure.
Accommodation generally includes guest house/homestay and camping, depending on the itinerary and operational conditions.
Yes. Meals are provided according to the Himalayasgriffon package and are generally vegetarian, with the exact meal plan shared before departure.
Transportation depends on the selected Himalayasgriffon package. Pickup and drop-off details will be clearly mentioned in the booking itinerary.
Essential items include:
Yes. Proper trekking shoes with good grip and ankle support are strongly recommended because the trail can include steep, rocky, muddy or slippery sections depending on weather conditions.
Yes. Selected trekking equipment can be arranged on a rental basis, subject to availability. Pre-booking is recommended.
Yes, when undertaken with proper preparation and professional trek support. However, mountain weather and trail conditions can change quickly, particularly on exposed ridge sections. Trekkers should always follow the trek leader's instructions.
Travel insurance is recommended for additional protection. Make sure your policy covers trekking activities and emergency medical/evacuation requirements.
It depends on their age, fitness, medical condition and trekking experience. Because the trek involves multiple walking days and altitude gain, individual fitness should be assessed before booking.
If heavy rain, snowfall, thunderstorms, poor visibility, strong winds or other conditions make the ridge or trail unsafe, the trek leader may modify the itinerary, change the route or stop the group from proceeding.
The itinerary is planned to cover Phulara Ridge, but completing the ridge section is subject to weather, trail and safety conditions. Safety always takes priority over completing the planned route.
With Himalayasgriffon, the focus is on a safe, well-organised and authentic Himalayan experience, supported by local knowledge, trained trek staff and carefully planned logistics.

Points that really worked for me. All home stay we stayed, Wherher it was at Sankari or Osla were very comfortable and great hospitality. Timely food and family like atmosphere in mountains and when you are seating in the tent when it rains outside, the conversations and stories from our Trek leader Suraj were interesting and entertaining. Suraj Rana definitely should be your trek guide. But be prepared for the mountains. As they say Mumbai ka fashion aur pahado ka Mausam kabhi bhi badal sakta hai Thanks Suraj Rana
